I’m fortunate to live a few hours from Assateague National Seashore in MD and neighboring Chincoteague Isl. in VA. I’ve come to prefer all horses be wild and free, so it is wonderful to have this refuge in my backyard. The overcast skies in early October only enhanced the dramatic scenery. Capt. Mike from Up the Bay Pony tour took us on a grand tour around Chincoteague in his very nice tritoon. I especially like that he limits the tours to six guests. Being a fellow photographer was also helpful, because he knew the shots I was looking for...and he knows the area like the back of his hand.
